MORE than 40 members of West Witney Women’s Institute learned about the daily life of RAF servicemen and women.
They were given a tour of RAF Brize Norton and shown different aircraft, including the new Voyager tanker and troop transport and Hercules and Boeing C17 Globemaster heavy transports.
There was also a question-and-answer session in the air traffic control room and a demonstration of vehicles used for fire rescues in Britain and on operations abroad.
WI branch chairman Jean Hammond said: “It was amazing to see the enthusiasm of the personnel, both military and citizen, who showed us around.
“Everyone was charming and it couldn’t have been more informative.”
