CLOCKS and jewellery were among items valued by TV antiques expert Eric Knowles.
The Antiques Roadshow ceramics expert visited Witney Congregational Church as part of a fundraising day for youth charity Base 33 on Saturday.
About 300 people attended and more than a third of them brought items for Mr Knowles to value.
Charity director Claire Dowan said: “I was waiting for someone to say ‘it’s worth £1m’ but we never had that.
“But there were a few people who were pleasantly surprised by the valuation that they were given.
“A lot of people just wanted to know the history and date of their item, and it was great for them to meet someone from TV in person.”
Alan Townsend, from Witney, had a 1920s Japanese vase valued but said it wasn’t worth very much.
He said: “It was the first time I’ve had it valued and Eric was very pleasant and amiable.”
Rotary Club of Witney members volunteered as helpers and the event raised more than £2,000 for Base 33.
