OXFORD MAGISTRATES

  1. Wesley Laughlin, 34, of no fixed abode, admitted harassing a woman he was prohibited from contacting by a non-molestation order in Little Bury, Oxford, on March 7 and 9. Given a 28-day prison sentence suspended for 12 months and ordered to pay an £80 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  2. Paul Lucas, 49, of Sympson Close, Abingdon, admitted drink-driving in High Street, Dorchester-on-Thames, on March 18. Had 115 milligrams of alcohol in 100ml of urine, over the legal limit of 107mg. Fined £150, ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs and banned from driving for 36 months.
  3. Nelson Smith, 54, of Little Blenheim, Yarnton, near Kidlington, admitted speeding on the A34 near Wytham on September 12 at a speed exceeding the 50mph limit. Fined £185 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £65 costs. Given three points on driving licence.
  4. Melissa Baker, 21, of Bath Street, Abingdon, admitted drink-driving in Ock Street, Abingdon, on February 16. Had 210mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood, above the legal limit of 80mg. Given a 24-month driving ban and fined £200. Told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  5. Shamsul Karim, 30, of Nowell Road, Oxford, admitted possessing cannabis, a Class B drug, in Oxford on February 28. Community order made with 100-hour unpaid work requirement. Told to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  6. Harry Loveridge, 25, of Grenoble Road, Greater Leys, Oxford, admitted drink-driving, driving without insurance and driving without a licence in High Street, Chalgrove, on April 14. Had 54 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Given a 12-month driving ban and fined £240. Told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  7. Adam Nash, 35, of Caldecott Close, Abingdon, admitted taking a vehicle without consent between February 24 and February 25 in Faringdon. Also admitted stealing a men’s gilet worth £30 from Edinburgh Woollen Mill on February 8, driving without a licence and driving without insurance in Buttercup Square, Oxford, on February 25. Also admitted committing a further offence during the period of a suspended sentence made on November 25 for theft. Given a 16-week prison sentence because of the seriousness of the offence and his record and given six points on his driving licence.
  8. Ronnie Westwood, 20, of Bretch Hill, Banbury, admitted being drunk and disorderly in a public place, High Street, Banbury, on March 29. Also admitted failing to surrender to custody at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on April 14. Fined £400 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  9. Andrew Harris, 32, of Lenthall Road, Oxford, admitted stealing a £5.99 bottle of wine from the Shell Garage in London Road, Headington, on October 2. Given a two-year conditional discharge, ordered to pay £11.98 compensation, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £20 costs.
  10. Mateusz Kowzan, 29, of South Park Avenue, Didcot, admitted drink-driving on Royal Berkshire Close, Didcot, on March 23. Had 112 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath over the legal limit of 35mg. Banned from driving for four years and given a community order with 200 hours unpaid work within the next 12 months. Also ordered to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge.

BANBURY MAGISTRATES

  1. Jack Allen, 20, of Midway, Middleton Cheney, admitted possession of Class B drug cannabis in Chipping Norton on March 3. Community order made with a four-week curfew requirement.
  2. David Hatton, 32, of Jubilee Court, Banbury, admitted shoplifting meat products worth £90 from Tesco in Banbury on February 12. Also admitted stealing meat worth £50 from the Co-op in Banbury on December 12 and again on December 30. Community order made with a drug rehabilitation order and a supervision requirement. Told to pay a total of £75 compensation and a £60 victims’ surcharge.
  3. George Page, 20, of Tadmarton Road, Bloxham, admitted possession of Class B drug cannabis in Banbury on March 29. Fined £100, a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  4. Kenneth Norris, 23, of Merton Road, Ambrosden, admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause a police officer to believe unlawful violence would be used against them in Ambrosden on April 6. Fined £200, a £20 victims’ surcharge and £50 costs.
  5. Jeremy Sweetman, 43, of Dumas Close, Bicester, admitted driving without due care and attention on the B4011, Piddington, on December 24. Fined £225, a £23 victims’ surcharge, and £85 costs. Also admitted driving with insufficient tyre tread. Licence endorsed with five penalty points.
  6. David Holland, 44, of Bretch Hill, Banbury, convicted of dishonestly undertaking or assisting in the retention, removal, disposal or realisation of a stolen off-road Pit bike worth £500 in Banbury on October 12. Fined £100, a £20 victims’ surcharge, and £300 costs.
  7. Matthew Sherry, 30, of Bretch Hill, Banbury, admitted shoplifting cosmetics worth £10.77 from Poundstretcher in Calthorpe Street, Banbury, on April 10. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  8. Jaroslaw Myslek, 34, of Queen Emmas Dyke, Witney, convicted of speeding in Duckington Lane, Witney, on October 9. Was travelling at 47mph in the 30pmh zone. Fined £225, a £23 victims’ surcharge, and £65 costs.
  9. Susan James, 52, of Lodge Close, Marston, Oxford, convicted of failing to give information relating to the identification of a driver alleged to have been guilty of an offence between May 20 and June 17. Fined £400 and £85 costs. Licence endorsed with six points.
