People convicted of offences at magistrates' courts in Oxfordshire recently:

OXFORD MAGISTRATES

  1. Virgilio De Ponte, 52, of Rutters Close, Kidlington, convicted of driving while using a mobile phone in Botley Road, Oxford, on October 10. Fined £200 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
     
  2. Brian Hardy, 72, of Bardwell Road, Oxford, admitted breaking the 20mph speed limit in St Giles on November 8. Fined £500 and told to pay a £50 victims’ surcharge and £65 costs. Driving licence endorsed with four points.
     
  3. Luke Kearney, 30, of Exeter Road, Kidlington, admitted failing to give information regarding the identity of a driver alleged to have been guilty of an offence between October 17 and November 11. Fined £275 and told to pay a £28 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
     
  4. Christopher Clarke, 33, of The Orchids, Chilton, admitted speeding at 53mph in a 30mph zone in Park Road, Didcot, on December 2. Fined £385 and told to pay a £39 victims’ surcharge and £65 costs. Driving licence endorsed with six points.
     
  5. Stephen Holliday, 37, of Hanney Road, Steventon, admitted speeding at 58mph in a 50mph zone in Eastern Bypass Road, Oxford, on October 5. Fined £115 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £65 costs. Driving licence endorsed with three points.
     
  6. Michelle Horton, 36, of Ash Close, Watlington, admitted speeding at 54mph in a 30mph zone on the B4009 at Shirburn on December 22. Fined £100 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £65 costs. Driving licence endorsed with six points.
     
  7. Darren Hughes, 28, of Percy Street, Oxford, convicted of driving without insurance in Oxford Road, Cowley, on December 9. Fined £600 and told to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Driving licence endorsed with six points.
     
  8. Zabair Khalid, 33, of Newman Road, Oxford, convicted of failing to give information relating to the identity of a driver alleged to have been guilty of an offence between October 11 and November 8. Fined £600 and told to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Driving licence endorsed with six points.
     
  9. Claire Lasko, 61, of High Street, Chipping Norton, admitted speeding at 35mph in a 30mph zone in Oxford Road, Enstone, on October 10. Fined £200 and driving licence endorsed with three points.
     
  10. Gerard McDonagh, 29, of Middle Ground, Wheatley, convicted of driving without insurance in Botley Road, Oxford, on December 2. Fined £600 and told to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
     
  11. Stephanie Butler, 41, of Samor Way, Didcot, convicted of keeping a vehicle which was unlicensed on a public road, namely Saxton Road, Abingdon, on November 26. Fined £600 and told to pay £172.50 vehicle excise back duty and £90 costs.~
     
  12. Gary Yeates, 51, of Cuddesdon Way, Oxford, admitted criminally damaging a window worth £447 at a property in Sandy Lane, Oxford, on December 29, a front door glass panel of a house on Balfour Road, Oxford, worth £97.34, on December 27, and a gas box of another house on the same road on the same date. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a total of £250 compensation and a £15 victims’ surcharge.
     
  13. Matthew Webb, 32, of Darenth Court, Didcot, admitted using threatening or abusive words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress on Abbott Road, Didcot, on April 14, while subject to a suspended sentence given by Oxford Magistrates’ Court on April 24 for fraud. Given a nine-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge.
     
  14. Cebrian de la Varga, 18, of Milton Road, Oxford, admitted assaulting two men and a woman by beating at The Purple Turtle pub in Frewin Court, Oxford, on April 11. Given a community order with a 12-week curfew between 7pm and 7am. Also given a four-month exclusion order from The Purple Turtle and ordered to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months. Ordered to pay a total of £850 compensation, a £60 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
     
  15. Daniel Holder, 29, of Luther Street, Oxford, was convicted of assaulting a man by beating in Oxford on June 14. Given a community order with a 12-week curfew to remain at O’Hanlon House, Luther Street, between 7pm and 7am and ordered to pay £200 compensation and a £60 victims’ surcharge.
     
  16. David Nasralla, 33, of West End, Witney, admitted speeding over the 30mph limit on Bampton Road, Witney, on November 7. Fined £100 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £65 costs. Licence endorsed with six points.
     
  17. Richard Pearce, 28, of Newnham Green, Crowmarsh Gifford, near Wallingford, admitted speeding over the 30mph limit on the A4130 at Bix on September 23. Fined £240 and ordered to pay a £24 victims’ surcharge and £65 costs. Licence endorsed with three points.
     
  18. Mizanur Rahman, 55, of Reedmace Road, Bicester, admitted speeding over the 30mph limit in Churchill Road, Bicester, on November 3. Fined £75 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £65 costs. Banned from driving for 14 days.


BANBURY MAGISTRATES

  1. Jolanta Augustyniak, 28, of Newton Morrell, Bicester, admitted drink-driving in Caversfield, Bicester, on April 13. Had 55 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Given a 16-month driving ban and fined £200. Told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
     
  2. Alexander Percival, 43, of Wilcote Road, East End, North Leigh, near Witney, admitted drink-driving on April 22 in Albion Street, Chipping Norton. Had 54 micrograms in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms, given a 12-month driving ban and fined £150. Told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
     
  3. Lisa Terry, 39, of Barclay Close, Deddington, near Banbury, admitted stealing perfume worth £16.99 from Boots in Castle Quay, Banbury, on March 19, also admitted failing to surrender to Banbury Magistrates’ Court on April 28 and committing a further offence while subject to a conditional discharge made on July 29 for theft. Fined £30 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge.
     
  4. Shannon Price, 24, of Prescott Avenue, Banbury, admitted stealing meat worth £25.44 from Marks & Spencer in Bridge Street, Banbury, on April 2. Told to pay £25.44 compensation and £20 costs.
