JEREMY Clarkson is in talks for a new £12m contract with the BBC, a national newspaper reported yesterday, following controversy over recent comments.
The Top Gear presenter, who lives in Chipping Norton, was criticised over claims he used two racist words in reports for the BBC2 programme.
Mr Clarkson, 54, said he meant to mumble one of the words while reciting a nursery rhyme and was “mortified” by the mistake.
