A £3,000 Morgan pedal car is the top prize in the raffle at Kingham Primary School’s summer fete.

The car, donated by the Malvern-based sports car maker Morgan, was inspired by the company’s original three-wheeler models.

The fete, at 12.30pm on Saturday, June 28, will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the opening of the school hall.

Proceeds of the raffle, organised by Kingham Primary School Association, will go towards the costs of a new stage and other equipment for performing arts at the school, on the Green.

Parent Craig Hamilton-Smith, who is a shareholder in the Morgan Motor Company and the great-grandson of HFS Morgan who designed the first Morgan three-wheeler in 1909, said: “We’re thrilled to be able to give away this fantastic Morgan pedal car, which will give years of enjoyment to any family and help raise funds for the school.”

Suitable for six to 13-year-olds, the pedal car has a three-speed crank, similar to a recumbent bicycle, and comes with working lights and hand-stitched adjustable seating.

Raffle tickets, which cost £1, are available from Kingham Stores, in Church Street, and Cotswold Newsagents, in High Street, Chipping Norton.
