RESIDENTS of Milton-under-Wychwood will have the chance to have a say tomorrow about a proposal to build about 70 houses at the south-west end of the village.

Developer Sharba Homes is holding a consultation event at Milton's village hall, in Shipton Road, from 10.30am to 3pm, to outline its ideas and hear people's opinions.

The company is carrying out the consultation before making a planning application to West Oxfordshire District Council.

Anyone who cannot attend the event can find out about the plans and comment online at miltonunderwychwoodconsultation.co.uk

All comments must be submitted by Friday, July 11.

Many in the village are concerned about the impact of housing shortages on house prices, where our kids will be able to afford to live, and are reluctant to turn Nimby.
But none of that affects the clear perception that these proposals, despite supposedly having the input of a former senior WODC planning officer, are shockingly
incompetent and poorly thought through. They are proposing to site over 70 houses at an end of the village that is served by only by congested village
residential roads or single track unclassified roads, on a green-field site within an AONB that for very good reasons has never been proposed in the Local Plans. It seems that there is no limit to the depth of incompetence people will sink to in order to satisfy their greed. Shambles Homes should drop it now. The Witney Gazette would also do well not to misrepresent what the developer did in Milton as any kind of genuine consultation. They are not remotely interested in the views of the villagers.
