THE stress that is being added to the anguish suffered by Eileen Brown, whose son died in Portugal, must be horrific.
Mr Brown’s body was discovered by police in Vilamoura two weeks ago and his family back in Eynsham say they still have not been given much information about how he died.
Worse still, it now appears that their original hopes of repatriating his body – perfectly reasonable for any family – have been dashed and he will be buried tomorrow.
While they may be dealing with authorities in a foreign country, Portugal is hardly at the ends of the earth and it is disturbing this family are seemingly caught in an impasse.
Surely this is the very type of situation our man in Lisbon should be sorting out.
