North Leigh manager Mark Gee has warned his players to expect a severe test when they host Wantage Town in tonight’s Division 1 South & West derby.
Although the visitors have yet to win this season, Gee, whose side lost 1-0 at Taunton on Saturday, says they cannot be discounted.
“It’s a big game for both sides,” said Gee. “They got a great point at Wimborne and they will be difficult to beat.
“And for us, it’s our fourth game in and hopefully we can take it on from our last home game (they beat Mangotsfield 6-2).
“My message to the players is to be positive and do what we do well like we did in the last home game.”
Andy Gunn and Brian Bowles return to the squad.
Despite Saturday’s kick-off at Taunton being delayed due to horrendous traffic, it was the Millers who started best, with a Conor Ingram shot cleared off the line.
At the other end, North Leigh keeper Matt Bulman denied Joe Bushin.
The Millers kept up the pressure with Morgan Williams grazing the far post.
After the break, North Leigh had a penalty appeal rejected when Williams was brought down by Jamie Price.
But Taunton piled on the pressure and five minutes from time substitute Lewis Tasker fired in the winner.
North Leigh tried to get an equaliser, but the hosts held on.
North Leigh: Bulman, Else, Hopkins, Turk (Eadle 90), Westlake, Caton, Osborne-Ricketts, McNish, Williams, Sanders (M Woodley 87), Ingram (Shepperd 80).
Attendance: 242.
