OXFORDSHIRE’S colourful autumn foliage has inspired those taking part in the Art in Woodstock festival.

From today the town will be adorned with work from schoolchildren, local artists and international art historians.

One of the speakers during the week-long festival is Martin Beek, who is based in South Oxfordshire.

Working in both America and the UK, he paints landscapes, particularly focusing on the changing seasons.

On Wednesday, he will give an illustrated talk about his recent work, explaining his methods and how he uses various media from oil paint to digital programmes.

He said: “It is very nice to be able to have a showcase of work here at Woodstock and to demystify the process of working as an outdoor artist.”

The talk will take place at Woodstock Town Hall at 7pm.
