DOZENS of scooters rode to the Soldiers of Oxfordshire Museum yesterday to receive a wreath of poppies ahead of Remembrance Sunday.

The riders of the Oxfordshire Scooter Alliance will join almost 1,200 other bike enthusiasts for a Ride of Respect in London on November 9.

Organiser Vince Wooloff came up with the idea of taking a wreath on behalf of the museum to lay alongside many others in Hyde Park. He said: “It is a great museum and I thought it would be a nice gesture to take something to London on their behalf.”

Museum director Ursula Corcoran added: “It is brilliant for us as a new museum and helps us become part of the wider community.”

The Woodstock museum was officially opened by Princess Anne last month.
