A POLICE officer was taken to hospital last night after being involved in a car crash in Witney.

Thames Valley Police were called to a two-car collision at 5.48pm in Ducklington Lane, Witney involving a white Vauxhall Astra police car and a silver Citroen Xsara.

Lucy Billen from Thames Valley Police described the crash as “a low speed bump” but could not confirm the cause of the crash.

She couldn't say whether the police car had been on its way to an emergency. 

The police officer driving the white Astra was subsequently taken to hospital.

Michelle Archer of South Central Ambulance Service said: “An ambulance and an ambulance officer attended the scene.

“One person was treated at the scene and later taken to John Radcliffe Hospital for non-threatening back injuries.”
