ASTRONAUT Chris Hadfield landed at Blackwells in Broad Street on Tuesday to sign copies of his new book, You Are Here.

Ed Nix took a great photo - our main picture here - of the singing spaceman up on the roof with the Oxford skyline behind him.

Ed asked Chris to throw his book into the air to create an illusion of weightlessness, and by doing so managed to capture the curvature of the earth on the book in line with the Sheldonian Theatre behind him.

So good, we put it on the front page!

Thousands of Santas took to the streets of Oxford on Sunday for the annual Santas on the Run fundraiser for Helen & Douglas House, below.

Dancing on Ice’s ultimate champion Maria Filippov and her partner Mark Hanretty put on their skates for the Oxford Ice Rink Christmas Show on Sunday.

The dark background in contrast to her pale skin, blonde hair and multicoloured cloak makes this picture look like an oil painting. It is a beautiful photograph.

St Edburg’s Church in Bicester opened its Christmas Tree festival last Friday and our photographer Jon Lewis went along.
