A MAN has been arrested after a 20-yearold needed hospital treatment when a glass was smashed in his face, police said yesterday.

The attack happened after an argument broke out in Nortons Bar, Langdale Gate, Witney, on Sunday at about 1.15am.

Officers said the victim was left with a deep cut on his left eyebrow, which required five stitches at Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital.

Police described the attacker as white, 18 to 20 years old, of medium build, with blond hair that was shaved at the sides and styled on the top, and a pale complexion.

The suspect was wearing navy blue shorts, white Adidas trainers and a black polo shirt with purple and white stripes on the collar and sleeve edges.

PC Luke Harris of Thames Valley Police said: “We would like to appeal to anyone who was in Nortons Cafe Bar at the time of the incident to please get in touch.”

A 20-year-old from Witney has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent.

He has been released on bail until April 19.
