A POSTMAN who has not shaved since November will finally ditch the facial hair for Sobell House.
Dan Eisenhandler, from Bladon, decided to start growing his beard for fun before being labelled by friends as Dandalf the Grey. The member of runners club Woodstock Harriers will commit to a clean face on Saturday at Woodstock barbers, and has so far raised £350 for Sobell House.
The 47-year-old said: “I got a lot of stick from friends and people said it was like talking to me through a hedge bush, and that if I shaved it off I would look 50 years younger.
“I chose Sobell House because I have seen people go through the hospice so I thought if I am going to get rid of the beard I might as well raise some money for it.
“I first started growing it in November and I just wanted to see how it would grow out because I had always wanted to do it.
“I have a bald head so I appreciate some hair anywhere.”
