BOISTEROUS and bouncy Reggie, who has been living at an animal sanctuary for eight years, has still not found a home.

The 10-year-old Great Dane and rottweiler cross can apparently “get a bit psychotic” when he sees a vet, but his handler Aaron Denton called him a calm and and loveable dog.

Due to his excitable nature he can only be adopted by couples or a single person without children or pets, who live in a quiet area.

The Oxford Mail reported on his need for a new home but so far nobody suitable has come forward.

Arron Denton, a handler at the sanctuary in Stadhampton, said: “We had one guy call up and offer treats and toys but that’s it. “We are still hopeful. Every dog has his day, we’re hoping one day it will be his.”

Reggie was brought to the Stadhampton sanctuary in 2007 when he was two after his owners moved into a new house, where the landlord did not allow pets.

He weighs about 43 kilograms and would be suited to a house in a quiet country neighbourhood away from traffic.
