THE weather is what everyone is talking about and it's no suprise.

Temperatures soared across the county as the hottest day of the year so far saw summer finally arrive with a bang.

But this afternoon, the Met Office has issued yellow weather warning for rain.

They say isolated thunderstorms could take place in parts of the county.

Today, the Met Office confirmed Brize Norton was the hottest place in UK yesterday with a sweltering high of 33.5C.

High pressure and hot air that settled in the county after being pushed North West from London were the reasons behind the climbing temperatures, the meteorological group added.

The balmy night saw the mercury drop to just 24C and it was set to reach up to 30C again today across the county.

But after yesterday saw some train services cancelled between Oxford and London due to the heat, Great Western Railway said it was not planning on doing the same today.

A spokesman said speed restrictions would no longer go ahead this afternoon.

But he added: "To protect vulnerable points between Paddington and Reading, we will however have a key route strategy in place, which see some amendments to our London and Thames Valley services."

Details of the amendments have yet to be released.
