BANBURY made it four wins in a row with a 21-10 victory at Swindon in South West 1 East.
Bulls were first to strike, with Michael Fox dotting down, Ed Phillips converting, for an early lead.
Scrum half Phillips extended their advantage with a penalty.
The home side responded with an unconverted try to reduce Banbury’s lead to 10-5 at the break.
Bulls eased away in the second half, thanks to two Phillips penalties.
It was then 21-5, thanks to an individual try from Jack Briggs.
Banbury were punished late on when Swindon added an unconverted score after making the most of a wayward kick.
However, Bulls had already done more than enough to secure victory.
Oxford Harlequins lost 44-21 at home to Newbury Blues.
Despite Joey Todd’s penalty for the hosts, the visitors led 12-3 after 20 minutes, thanks to tries from Mike Walker and Joe Piggot.
Quins hit back to make it 18-15 at the break as Matt Edney and Fotu Latu crossed.
Todd and Newbury’s Nick Wackwitz had also traded penalties.
In the second half, Walker dived over, before Wackwitz and Todd kicked a penalty apiece.
Three tries in the last 12 minutes from Toby Thorne (2) and Walker saw Blues race to victory.
Witney lost 34-22 at Windsor.
The west Oxfordshire side opened up a 12-0 lead, thanks to tries from Charlie Dyde and Sam Collins, the latter converted by Matt Clarke.
Windsor bounced back to make it 13-12 after Matt Balmer’s try and two Harry Woolmar penalties.
The visitors replied when Scott Mortimer crossed, but the hosts led 20-17 after Balmer went over again.
Ben Grant-Adamson and Witney’s Collins traded tries, before Richie Craig was sin-binned for the visitors.
Collins was also yellow-carded as the hosts were awarded a penalty try, which Woolmar converted.
Grove lost 15-7 at Reading Abbey.
