A MOTORCYCLIST has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a crash.
The incident took place shortly before 9am yesterday morning on the A417 at Faringdon Road, Stanford in the Vale.
South Central Ambulance Service was called at 8.46am and sent an ambulance and two officers in rapid response vehicles to the scene.
Spokesman David Gallagher said: "The motorcyclist was an approximately 25-year-old male who had sustained life-threatening injuries.
"Following treatment at the scene, he was taken to the major trauma unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital."
Initially the incident was thought to have involved a van but SCAS confirmed this morning the motorbike was the only vehicle involved.
The road is still closed both ways. More as we have it.
