BIG name pop acts from the 80s to the present day will grace Blur star Alex James's west Oxfordshire farm for this summer's Big Feastival.

X Factor stars Olly Murs and Louisa Johnson, ska-pop legends Madness and an orchestral set of 90s dance hits, are among the acts announced this afternoon for the festival, which takes place in Kingham, near Chipping Norton from August 25-27.

Dance music lovers will be able to get the weekend off to an electrifying start with Haçienda Classical – a show of nostalgic dance songs accompanied by a full classical orchestra with special guests Mike Pickering, Graeme Park, New Order’s Peter Hook and Happy Mondays’ Shaun Ryder and Rowetta.

There will also be sets by The Cribs, De La Soul, Gentleman's Dub Club, Norman Jay, Dodgy and Feastival favourites Cuban Brothers – an annual highlight.

One familiar star missing from the line-up though is Jamie Oliver, who has co-hosted the event with Mr James

After five years in the driving seat, the chef is taking a break from his role as co-host. He said: “It’s been an honour to be part of The Big Feastival story since it started, and I’m really proud of it.

"The values it was founded on – exceptional food, great music and fun for everyone – have always been what sets Feastival apart, and it’s been amazing to watch it grow and come of age over the past five years.

"Alex and the team at IMG that has organised and run the festival will continue on and I know it’s in safe hands.

"The spirit of The Big Feastival will always be at the heart of it and I can’t wait to come back with my family as a punter!"

But while Jamie may no longer be sharing the driving seat, the August Bank Holiday event continues its reputation for culinary excellence, with appearances by Rick and Jack Stein, Nathan Outlaw, Mark Hix, Jose Pizarro, Antonio Carluccio, Candice Brown, Cyrus Todiwala and Tom Hunt.

Children will be entertained by animals from Countryfile host Adam Henson's Cotswold Farm Park, and TV stars Dick & Dom and Justin Fletcher.

Bassist and celebrity cheesemaker, Mr James said: "It’s an honour to host The Big Feastival on the farm for the sixth year running. With the incredible line-up, there’s something for the whole family. This is going to be our biggest and best year yet. Last year tickets sold out in record time and we know it will be no different in 2017."

On the departure of his co-host, he said: "Starting a festival from scratch in this day and age, against considerable competition, seemed like complete madness on paper. But having a partner like Jamie, with his knowledge, ideas and limitless enthusiasm, has helped make it what it has become today.

"Jamie will always be a part of Feastival and we look forward to welcoming him back in the future to see how the Feastival has flourished.”
