TWO specialist police officers tasked with guarding nuclear sites were involved in a crash with a motorbike.

The police vehicle the officers were driving in crashed with a motorbike at around 3.30pm on Saturday on the A417 at Rowstock.

The rider of the motorcycle, a man in his 40s, was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries and the officers received minor injuries.

Investigating officer, Sergeant Claire Greene of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, based at Bicester, said: "We are appealing for witnesses following this incident and would ask anyone who may have seen this collision to come forward."

The officers worked for the Civil Nuclear Constabulary.

Police have not yet revealed what the specialist officers were doing at the time of the crash.
