A PENSIONER died in a crash on the A420 on Sunday, with two drivers suffering serious injuries.

It is the second fatal crash in the same spot - in the village of Tubney outside Oxford - in the space of less than two months.

Police are appealing for information after Sunday's collision between a grey Peugeot 3008 and a silver Skoda Octavia.

A passenger in the Peugeot, a woman in her 70s from Swindon, was treated by paramedics but died at the scene.

Drivers of both cars were also taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The crash happened at about 2.50pm and the road was shut in both directions while emergency services attended.

It comes just weeks after a 51-year-old woman died in a crash on the A420, also at Tubney.

Her car crashed with a lorry on March 22 after the lorry suffered a tyre blowout and lost control.

Appealing for information about Sunday's crash, PC Matt Robson asked for witnesses to come forward.

The officer, of the force's joint operations roads policing unit at Abingdon station, also asked if anyone has dash cam footage of the crash.

Anyone with information can call 101 quoting reference '824 (06/05)', or contact Crimestoppers anonymously.
