OXFORDSHIRE has been named the fourth most-filmed county in the UK, outside of London, after featuring in countless big screen hits.

Residents in the county are used to seeing film crews role up outside many of Oxfordshire's famous landmarks proven to make the perfect backdrop for film and TV.

The project, undertaken by financial conduct authority GoCompare, worked out there had been 325 film and tv series filmed in Oxfordshire over the years according to IMDB.

This has included several appearances in Harry Potter films including scenes filmed in Christ Church and in Oxford's Broad Street, as well as Blenheim Palace proving the perfect backdrop for many productions such as Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Black Beauty and James Bond's Spectre.
