A 17TH century pub once voted the best restaurant in the Cotswolds is up for sale for £600,000.

The Crown Inn at Church Enstone, near Chipping Norton, has gone on sale for someone looking to get their teeth into the pub business.

The cosy pub was voted the best restaurant in the Cotswolds in 2010 and 2011.

It boasts dining space for about 60 people as well as four-bedroom accommodation for the resident owners.

Estate agents Collliers International is dealing with the sale and director Peter Brunt said: “If your wish list includes log fires in the inglenook, old photos on the walls, rustic bar and beamed ceilings the Crown Inn certainly ticks all the boxes.

“Cosy and welcoming to locals and visitors alike, the Crown has a cottage garden which is ideal for sunny days and evenings and a terrace which looks out onto the honey coloured village of thatched stone cottages.”

Mr Brunt said he believes the pub has plenty of potential to improve in the hands of enthusiastic new owners.

He added: “Our clients bought the business in 2003.

“Over the 15 years of their ownership of The Crown Inn they have found the business to be a reliable performer for a hands-on couple.”
