A VOLUNTEER from Witney has been praised by national children's charity Barnardo's for supporting children and young people with disabilities.
Anthony Beechey, 40, volunteers with Barnardo’s Community Short Breaks Service in Oxfordshire, helping with holiday playschemes and after school clubs.
Mr Beechey was mentioned on Barnardo's website during National Volunteers' Week last month for helping out twice weekly at Springfield School.
He had previously volunteered at charity shops for 10 years.
The lifelong Witney resident helps children from age five to 18 and hopes he has had an impact.
He said: "It makes me feel like I'm a role model and to see their achievements is really good."
