HARWELL-BASED diamond firm Element Six has been supporting the 69th annual Diamond Conference at Warwick University.

The company is a world-leader in synthetic diamonds and other ‘supermaterials’ and a member of the De Beers Group of Companies.

The conference this week is recognised as a leading annual forum on diamond technology, drawing experts from academia, science, industry and technology across the globe.

The event, which started on Monday and finishes today, saw papers discussed by industry experts, with several speakers from Element Six providing insight on how synthetic diamonds can be used in a wide array of practical manufacturing applications, including a focus on its contribution to 5G wireless technology.

Innovation director Siobhán Duffy said: “Element Six is proud to once again be a sponsor of the conference. We heard from a variety of distinguished speakers who are at the forefront of their respective fields and joined together to provide the latest insights on the practical uses of diamond.

“This was an opportunity for the leaders of science, technology, business and academia to collaborate on the next generation of diamond capability and seek solutions to some of the world’s greatest manufacturing and scientific challenges.

Students also attended the conference to gain valuable insights and exposure from the other speakers present.”

The conference serves as an opportunity to inspire the next generation of diamond experts, with students from the Centre for Doctoral Training in Diamond Sciences and Technology having the chance to present research.
