SCOOTER enthusiasts at an Oxfordshire festival have raised a record-breaking sum for charity.
The final total taken between ticket sales, raffles and bucket donations at last weekend's Oddballs Rally in Abingdon has been confirmed as £9,500.
Of this £8,500 will go to the Teenage Cancer Trust and £1,000 to young person's cancer charity CLIC Sargent.
It is the most ever raised at the three-day event, which has been running since 2015.
Organiser Vince Wooloff, who created the event after friend Ron Morgan died of cancer, celebrated the 'impressive' total and said the £27.170 the event has raised within four years but his dream of raising £30,000 by next year's event within reach.
He added as the event has got bigger, with 2,000 attending the event at Abingdon Rugby Club this year, he was looking for help from businesses.
Mr Wooloff said: "I dearly need company sponsorship to help cover costs, thereby ensuring charity gets more."
Across the long weekend there was music from eight live bands, the biggest being a performance from classic punk/psychobilly group King Kurt, who this year celebrate the 35th anniversary of their first album. Each Oddballs Rally is themed and this year festivalgoers took to the high seas by donning pirates outfits, with prizes for the best dressed buccaneer.
Next year's festival will take place between August 2 and 4, with a Cowboys and Indians theme.
