A GIRL GUIDING unit are crowdfunding for new floors as part of a major revamp to their HQ.
Kidlington Guides, who have already racked up £120,000 in donations to revamp their centre, are now trying to raise another £8,000 to complete the refurbishment.
As the works began earlier this year, Guides saw diggers move onto the site and take down the building's roof.
The HQ is home to around 250 girls who are part of 12 units – including two Rainbow packs, four Brownie groups, three guide units, a senior section unit and a Trefoil group.
Since the works began, which have also been supported by a three-figure loan from Cherwell District Council, the groups have been using a temporary building.
On a crowdfunding webpage to raise the final £8,000, the group wrote: "While it’s great that we have started building, we still need to provide a hard wearing flooring and cupboards for our new centre."
They added that the total was needed to cover materials and workers.
The Guides have already raised more than £1,000 towards the target.
