Bridal fashion show to help cancer research

BRIDAL shop owner Susan Druce is putting bridal fashion on the catwalk.

Ms Druce owns Millie Benjamin, in Charlbury, and wanted a stylish showcase for her range of bridal gowns, bridesmaids' dresses, and accessories.

The idea grew, and the show, at Eynsham Hall, North Leigh, will also feature mother-of-the-bride outfits, from Lizzie James and Posh Frocks, of Little Clarendon Street, Oxford, vintage bridal gowns, from Renaissance, Witney, and honeymoon swimwear, from Bajan Blue, of High Street, Oxford. "We want the day to be very much about our guests enjoying a stunning fashion show, not just another wedding fayre," said Ms Druce.

"Guests will receive a welcome drink on the terrace, with a jazz band, and there will be two shows with professional models."

Profits from the event will be donated to the Harwell-based charity, Against Breast Cancer. Members of the Witney fundraising team will be running a raffle at the event, with prizes including two £500 bridal gown vouchers.

Guests will also be invited to try a bridal make-up or nail enhancements from Beau Nail and Beauty, Kidlington, and pedicures, from Foxy Feet. There will also be stalls selling a variety of items, from jewellery to paintings.

Tickets for the bridal fashion show, on Sunday, September 3, at 11am, cost £6 each, which includes a welcome drink and goody bag, and they are available from Ms Druce at Millie Benjamin, Charlbury, or by calling her, on 01608 810252, and from all the shops involved in the show.

Ms Druce is planning a similar show at Heythrop Park, near Chipping Norton, next February.
