GIRL guides and Brownies mucked in and planted 105 trees in Carterton to help celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
About 60 girl guides, brownies and their parents and leaders took part in the planting, in Willow Meadow off Alvescot Road, on Sunday.
The trees were given to the Brize Norton and Carterton District Girl Guides by the Woodland Trust to create a legacy for the jubilee celebrations.
Brownie Isabel Norris, seven, said: “I really enjoyed it because we got to dig up most of the soil and get muddy.
“I am looking forward to seeing the trees grow to see how they turn out in the end.”
Her mum, Vanessa Norris, from Carterton, said: “It is a really good way of celebrating the special occasion.
“It is a legacy and something for the people to enjoy for the future. It would be good to go back and see how they are growing.”
Group president Pam Howard said: “It went very well.
“It was a nice community thing to do, it is nice to encourage the wildlife and it was our way of taking part in the Diamond Jubilee celebrations.”
