AN air ambulance and police are on the scene of a three vehicle crash on the eastbound A40 by Witney.

A crash involving a tractor and two 4x4s closed part of the A40 and caused heavy delays.

The smash happened on the eastbound side after the junction to the A415 just before 3pm.

Police, the fire service, and an air ambulance were called to the scene.

A person released from under the tractor by firefighters was taken to Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital in a critical condition.

Two other people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Unless proven to have been a fault with one of the vehicles, the accident wasn't between a tractor and a couple of 4x4 vehicles ......but between their human drivers and how the vehicles were being driven on that wretched A40.
