No date yet for repatriation of fallen trio

OXON: A date has not yet been set for the repatriation of three servicemen killed in Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defence said.

Lance Corporal Duane Groom, 32, of The Queen’s Company, 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards, was killed when his vehicle hit a home-made bomb in Helmand province on Friday.

Sergeant Gareth Thursby, 29, and Private Thomas Wroe, 18, both of 3rd Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment (3 YORKS), were shot and killed by a rogue Afghan policeman in Helmand province on Saturday.

Their bodies will be repatriated to RAF Brize Norton and hundreds of people are expected to gather to pay their respects.
