Sir – On Saturday, October 20, the Witney Model and Collectors Club held their annual show at The King’s School.
The Witney Squadron of the Air Training Cadets came along to help with the running of the show. I would like to publicly acknowledge and thank the cadets and their officers for offering to spend the day with us.
I cannot praise enough the behaviour of the cadets – they went about their duties cheerfully and responsibly, with eagerness, enthusiasm and good humour.
Everyone, club members, exhibitors and visitors alike, were impressed by their politeness, willingness and hard work to help in whatever way from early in the morning until late in the afternoon.
It is clear that the ATC has done a thoroughly excellent job with these young people in helping them to build a solid set of social skills, sound initiative and, most importantly, a sense of belonging in the community and the value of wanting to contribute to it.
During the day the cadets saluted us. Now it is our turn to salute them.
Les Burford, Chairman Witney Model and Collectors Club, Burford Road, Witney
