Sir – I write concerning your article about Brize Norton resident Mr Pilbeam being stopped by West Oxfordshire District Council from building a house in his back garden in Burford Road.
One reason it was refused was: “It would set a ‘harmful’ precedent and may put an undue pressure on the highway network.”
So, one four-bedroom house with possibly two cars may affect traffic but 700 houses across the road with over 1,000 cars will not. Humbug!
