Sir – Does anyone know what happened to the Christmas tree outside the Corn Exchange in Witney?
It was there for the Christmas lights switch-on but when I returned from holiday it had vanished, together with a couple of ice sculptures. There is another tree near the Angel pub but it seems to have no lights.
Both trees were poor specimens anyway. Could Witney Town Council not do better than this, even in these straitened times?
