Sir – I remember well the Witney WRVS car in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
For several years our cook at Dailey Hill House, Moorland Close (the Oxfordshire County Council hostel for people with learning disabilities), would prepare, once a fortnight, about 25 meals for the elderly, which were duly collected by the volunteers and delivered in the locality.
I believe Witan House provided the service on the alternate week.
