Sir – With reference to your report last week about Chris Roger’s problems with recycling bins being left strewn all over the place after collection, I too have had the need to complain to the district council on this issue.
Last week, the 10 boxes in our cul-de sac were, when put out, neatly stacked in house order to facilitate collection.
To my dismay, when I (also a pensioner) went to collect in the empty boxes, mine as well as my neighbours’, I found them scattered everywhere, in the drive, on the road and on the garden.
It is not the first time this has happened to our boxes and obviously, from what Mr Roger said, this is not an unusual occurrence in Witney, which needs some urgent attention by our councillors.
David Wass, Burwell Meadow, Witney
