Sir – In your report about West Oxfordshire District Council’s draft core strategy consultation (Gazette, February 6) Warwick Robinson, the cabinet member for strategic planning, said: “The weight of public opinion is always important when political decisions are made, but I think when talking about the local plan the planning considerations perhaps carry more weight.”
In other words, whatever the electors say, he’s not going to take any notice.
Would someone please explain to me why any of us should go to the trouble of responding to consultations – and, indeed, why our council tax is being spent on a consultation which Mr Robinson acknowledges to be a farce ?
