Logic behind development escapes me

Sir – As a resident of Brize Norton and former RAF dependent, I am fully aware of the strategic necessity of RAF Brize Norton.

What I don’t understand is why anyone would build a residential complex of 700 (at the moment) houses east of Carterton, immediately adjacent to RAF Brize Norton.

Residents of the proposed development would suffer air, noise and light pollution resulting from their proximity to the station.

RAF Brize Norton will not offer increased employment in the immediate area for and expanded population.

Could someone explain the logic behind this proposed development to me ?

Well Diana, I have commented on another letter about the airfield and moving to Brize Norton from Lyneham was a huge mistake in my view. They were already established there and it had the advantage of 2 runways as well.
Stupid or what ? A waste of money.
