Move Witney Museum to Corn Exchange
10:00am Wednesday 28th August 2013 in Letters
Sir – Several suggestions have been forthcoming about the future use of the Witney Corn Exchange.
Most ideas are fairly sound, but I would like to put forward another one.
Witney has a superb little museum which contains some really interesting items on display.
However, I feel that the museum is not visited as much as it should be, due to its out of the way location. I can imagine visitors from far away do not even know it is there. This is a great shame.
How about relocating the museum to the Corn Exchange, which is much more central, and even perhaps moving the visitor information centre to the building at the same time?
I think the idea put forward of a cafe providing drinks could also be included, perhaps on a franchise basis.
