Conservatives look out of touch

First published in Letters

Sir – The intouch newsletter from the Witney East Conservatives popped through my letter box recently – ‘Local Issues, Local Action, Local Conservatives’.

Rather surprisingly, it contained absolutely nothing about the Shores Green slip roads issue, which is perhaps one of the biggest Witney East local issues.

Notwithstanding the excellent progress the Government has made towards restoring the economy following the disastrous Blair/Brown era, at local level, on this showing, the Conservatives can hardly claim to be “in touch”.

Indeed they appear to be rather out of touch, if that newsletter is representative of their interest in local matters.
