Sir – I read with incredulity your report about the proposal to censor the public comments of Witney town councillors.
Well done to those councillors who have come forward and stated they are not in favour of this.
I wonder if those who are behind this policy will be as open?
I would like to know who they are, so I can be sure, they don’t get my vote in next month’s local elections.
On the basis that turkeys don’t vote for Christmas, I guess they will be hiding behind their self-imposed wall of anonymity and keeping their heads down.
Perhaps we will have to out them by a process of elimination.
Will they have the conviction to come forward and justify themselves? I very much doubt it.
