Thank you for handing in my lost bank card

First published in Letters

Sir – Several weeks ago my bank card was accidentally left in the outside machine. I was unwell and my husband had gone to withdraw some cash for me.

Neither of us realised that the card was missing until a few hours later.

Obviously, I cancelled the card but I was very upset at the thought of someone having a good spending spree at my expense during those few hours.

However, I eventually discovered that someone had handed in my card and I just wanted to say a huge thank you to that person.

I have felt unhappy that I wasn’t able to thank that someone but I have just thought about your paper and I hope that the honest person reads this page.

Thank you.
