Sir – On July 16, you reported that a new S7 bus service between Carterton, Witney and Headington was to be introduced, following a campaign by Witney councillors.

Well thanks a lot Witney councillors.

This S7 service has meant that Stagecoach has rerouted the S2 so that it no longer comes through Minster Lovell. The residents of Minster Lovell have been left with a totally inadequate bus service that does not meet their needs.

The concerns of the Minster Lovell residents have been put to Stagecoach, along with a petition that was signed by 214 people.

Stagecoach is reluctant to take on board these concerns or to provide any cogent reasons as to why the S2 has been rerouted.

County council leader Ian Hudspeth recently wrote to me, stating: “The county council does not have any influence over any changes that Stagecoach makes.”

Really? Well it seems that campaigning by Witney councillors resulted in our bus service being taken away, so perhaps some campaigning by the county councillors can get it restored.

Come on Stagecoach, listen to us, so we can work together to ensure that Minster Lovell has a bus service that meets our needs.

If your readers have been affected by the rerouting of the S2, then I would ask that they write to Stagecoach and the county council to voice their concerns.

Linda Bentley, Brize Norton Road, Minster Lovell
