Sir, Although the article under your comments on page six goes some way in mitigation, the impact of your headline gives the impression that Wood Green School is failing in its education of the students; the fact it is the buildings structure that is the ‘failure’ becomes somewhat ambiguous.

Due to not being able to give the time and commitment the role deserves I reluctantly resigned as a governor of the school in January of this year but, I can state with confidence, that since the school was placed in special measures the staff and governors have worked extremely hard on improvements at all levels, which I trust will be evident after the next Ofsted inspection.

Being a parent of three daughters, two of whom are students at Wood Green, your misleading headline would give me cause for concern had I not being in the fortunate position of having more detailed information.

Wood Green School would appear to be caught “between a rock and a hard place” and deserves the full support of the whole community it serves whilst doing without the added stress of misleading headlines.
