Sir – In reply to the letter from Hilary Hoyland (Letters, July 8), cattle need to graze, it’s what they do.

They had probably been moved from the adjacent field behind the lane which was well grazed. They are a delight to see with their calves when walking that route.

They are part of the eco system, they don’t walk out in front of me using mobile phones when I’m driving and they don’t leave their litter strewn all over the place. It’s people that are a problem in this world. Just look at the state of it.
