Sir – Just a note to Ian Hudspeth our county council leader.
Living in West Oxfordshire I need to travel to see my clients at either their home address or business address, frequently using either the A40 or A420.
I work as an independent registered nurse and I need to use my car daily due to carrying a lot of equipment in my car.
How dare Mr Hudspeth suggest we use the park-and-ride or train from for example Long Hanborough.
I pay my road tax and insurance and require my car to do my job.
I fully understand if your job is in a nice warm office and you can pop off the train and walk to your work premises.
A lot of people need to travel for work and it is essential they require a car to do this.
I travel all over Oxfordshire – on a daily basis I need to allow at least 45 minutes between clients just to get to them – across central Oxford, this is very frustrating, just sat in traffic congestion day after day – extending your daily working hours.
Trying hard to give a professional service to my clients, then occasionally having to call to say apologies delayed in “road congestion again”. I also understand the work needs to be done – at Cutteslowe and Wolvercote Roundabouts, but taking until November 2016?
We are very lucky living in West Oxfordshire. Witney is a nice town for shopping and free parking.
Many of my clients state they are moving out of Oxford (business and residential) due to parking problems/horrendous charges/road congestion.
Why can’t our council leaders do a better planning job, eh?
