Sir – On Monday, September 21, the West Oxfordshire District Council Development Committee debated the planning application for 1,200 new homes at Woodstock East.
This is probably the most controversial planning issue in the history of Woodstock and the wider area.
Fortunately, common sense prevailed and the West Oxfordshire councillors voted overwhelmingly (only one dissenting) for refusal, vindicating Woodstock Town Council’s robust opposition to this ill-considered project.
Hopefully, next Thursday Cherwell District councillors will do the same.
Brian Yoxall (Cllr)
Woodstock Town Council
