Free compost given away
TO celebrate Compost Awareness Week, Cherwell District Council is giving away free bags of compost.
About 600 bags are up for grabs at Bodicote House, in Banbury, tomorrow from 9am to 3pm, and Exeter Hall, in Kidlington, on Sunday, May 11, 9am to 3pm (a maximum of two bags per household).
Cherwell residents attending the events can also enter a prize draw to win a free compost bin or a free water butt.
Cherwell District Council's recycling trailer will be at the events with staff on hand to hand out recycling and composting leaflets and give advice.
Gabi Kaiser from Cherwell District Council's Recycling team said: "This is an opportunity for us to say thank you in a small way to our residents for their excellent efforts in supporting Cherwell's successful recycling scheme.
"It is also a way to promote the benefits of home composting in Compost Awareness Week."
