STAFF from Witney’s newest hotel spent a day litter picking around the town.

Employees from the Premier Inn volunteered to clear rubbish from Burwell Meadow, Ducklington Lane and The Springs.

Equipment and litter sacks were provided by West Oxfordshire District Council.

The hotel’s operations manager, Sam Rowlands, said: “This was our way of saying hello – it’s part of our company ethos.”

David Harvey, the council’s cabinet member for environment, said: “It’s good to see a new company involved in the community.”

The 56-bed hotel, in Ducklington Lane, opened on Monday.
